You are invited to the Families Against Wrong Way Drivers (FAWWD) 7th Annual 5K Run/Walk in memory of Anthony D Thompson. We would be honored to have your presence and support as we come together to make a difference in our community.
FAWWD’s mission is twofold: to support the community’s youth by raising funds for academic scholarships and to raise awareness of our public safety campaign aimed at making our freeways safer. This year, all funds raised through the event will be awarded as scholarships by the Officer Anthony Thompson Foundation.
As you may know, it only takes a second for a mother to lose everything due to a wrong-way driver. The pain experienced by Mama Koko, who lost her only son Anthony to a wrong-way driver, is immeasurable. We strive to prevent any more mothers from experiencing this 100% preventable loss again. We firmly believe that by coming together as a community, we can make a significant impact and create safer roads for everyone.
By participating in the 5K Run/Walk, you will not only help raise funds for academic scholarships but also raise awareness about the dangers of drunk and wrong-way driving. Together, we can be driven by a mother’s pain and work towards a future where no more victims suffer due to such reckless actions.
We cordially invite you to join us on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Rosie Dog Beach for a morning of unity, compassion, and determination. Whether you choose to run or walk, your presence will make a significant difference. Let us stand together as a community to support each other and foster positive change.
