9/11 Tribute Run

September 11, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm PDT

9.11 Tribute Run

Join me, Jim Partridge, on my 4th Annual 9/11 Tribute Run across Rancho Cucamonga waving the American Flag for 9.11 Miles.

“People are forgetting about 9/11, and I want to raise awareness, pay tribute and honor those who died 16 years ago” – Jim Partridge

This year’s run will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Freedom Courtyard of Central Park (Milliken/Baseline) and run east 3 miles on the Pacific Electric Trail. We will turn south on East Avenue, then return west on Baseline.

We will continue west on Baseline and pass Haven at Mile 7 (about 6:45 pm) to pick up any runners who want to run just the last 2 miles (easy 13:00+ min/mile pace). We will continue west on Baseline, finishing about 7:15 p.m. with a starlight prayer vigil at the Vietnam War Memorial in front of Alta Loma High School.

Please bring an American flag to carry. You’re welcome to join the run at any point along the route. You’ll be amazed how many people honk, stop to cheer, salute, and take photos of this solemn group of runners.

Transportation back to the park is easily coordinated. This is an informal and non-organized event, free of charge. All are welcome, even kids & strollers.

Again, this is a solumn tribute run to honor those we lost on 9/11/01 (it’s not a “fun run”). Feel free to tag others in this post.
