About Veruschka Zarate
Veruschka was the 2022 QuiltCon Viewer’s Choice winner and best piecing winner for her quilt titled, “Love Quilt”. Veruschka was inspired to make this award-winning quilt following a disappointing quilting–related setback. In her own words, “This piece developed much like a Phoenix from the ashes.”
Veruschka Zarate of Pride & Joy Quilting is an Accomplished Award-Winning Quilt Maker and Pattern Designer, specializing in the technique of Foundation Paper Piecing. She was one of the featured Faculty for The Modern Quilt Guild QuiltCon 2022, teaching “Mastering Foundation Paper Piece Quilting.” This Quiltcon Class has become a comprehensive Online Video Course called “Modern Foundation Paperpiecing: Fundamentals.”
Her Quilts have received several awards, including The National Association of Certified Quilt Judge’s Award of Merit for Outstanding Achievement in Quiltmaking, QuiltCon’s First Place in Piecing, and Quiltcon’s Peoples Choice. Veruschka has been featured in numerous Magazines and Podcasts such as Art Quilting Studio Magazine, American Patchwork, and Quilting, Curated Quilts, Quilting Love Magazine, Fons & Porters& McCalls Quilt & Tell.
