Los Angeles County Aging & Disabilities Department

The Los Angeles County Aging & Disabilities Department (AD) serves the County’s growing population of older adults, dependent adults, and adults with disabilities. As Los Angeles County’s designated Area Agency on Aging, AD coordinates a wide range of programs that help residents live with dignity and independence, including nutrition services, transportation resources, caregiver support, and digital-access initiatives.

AD also operates critical safety-net programs such as Adult Protective Services, which responds to reports of abuse, neglect, and self-neglect, and leads countywide initiatives like L.A. Found and Purposeful Aging Los Angeles (PALA). Through thoughtful action, compassion, and collaboration with community partners, the department works to ensure that older adults and people with disabilities can remain safe, connected, and fully included in the life of Los Angeles County.
