911 National Day of Service and Remembrance is here. We invite you to join the D’Andre D Lampkin Foundation for the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance as we come together to support our community. The Foundation will be hosting a food packing and distribution event on September 11, 2023, at 3 p.m. Volunteers will be tasked with creating nonperishable good packages from the Foundation’s Community Food Pantry to be given to community members in need.
The September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, also known as 9/11 Day, is a federally-recognized National Day of Service that happens in the United States on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. This day is dedicated to transforming the anniversary of 9/11 into a day of serving the community. Originally founded by the 9/11 nonprofit MyGoodDeed (d.b.a. 9/11 Day), the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance later became federally recognized and authorized as a Day of Service passage of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, which was adopted on a bipartisan basis by the U.S. Congress in 2009.
We believe that by coming together to serve our community, we can honor the memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11. We hope you will join us in this effort to make a positive impact in our community.
Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to seeing you on September 11th.
