The D’Andre D Lampkin Foundation is helping share this important resource for homeowners impacted by the Eaton Fire in Altadena and surrounding communities.

The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) and the LA County Aging & Disabilities Department are hosting a free in-person workshop for residents who are worried about keeping up with their mortgage after the wildfire.

At this session, county staff and housing specialists will help you:

  • Understand your options if you’re behind on your mortgage or expect to fall behind
  • Learn about mortgage forbearance and other temporary relief options for fire-impacted homeowners
  • Get guidance on working with your lender and insurance company after a disaster
  • Learn how to avoid scams that target wildfire survivors
  • Connect with trusted local, state, and federal recovery resources

The Eaton Fire burned thousands of acres and destroyed or damaged thousands of structures in the Altadena–Pasadena area, leaving many residents facing steep rebuilding and housing costs. This workshop is designed specifically for homeowners affected by the Eaton Fire who are now struggling with their mortgage or worried about long-term housing stability.

Who should attend

  • Homeowners whose homes were damaged or destroyed by the Eaton Fire
  • Residents whose mortgage payments became unaffordable because of fire-related losses (income, property, or other impacts)
  • Older adults and people with disabilities who need extra support in understanding their options
  • Caregivers, family members, and advocates helping someone navigate mortgage and housing decisions after the fire

What to bring

  • Your mortgage statement(s)
  • Any letters or notices from your mortgage servicer or lender
  • Insurance documents related to your home
  • Photo ID (if available)

Bringing these documents is not required, but it will help staff give you more tailored information and referrals.
