Black History Month 2024

February is a month of reflection and appreciation as we honor Black History Month, celebrating the countless achievements and contributions of African Americans throughout history. It is a time for us to come together as a nation, acknowledge the struggles and triumphs, and recognize the remarkable progress we have made in our pursuit of equality.

At the D’Andre D Lampkin Foundation, we firmly believe that black history is indeed American history – it is intertwined with the fabric of our nation, shaping our collective identity as a diverse and inclusive society. Through cooperative efforts and collaboration amongst people of all races, we have successfully overcome race-based barriers and have reached a pivotal point in our country where merit and the content of our character determine how we judge individuals.

As Dr. Martin Luther King famously said, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” These words continue to resonate within our society as we strive for justice, understanding, and equality.

To celebrate and further explore the rich history of black leadership, we invite you to visit our headquarters office and engage with our captivating public service gallery exhibit titled, “Perspectives in Leadership.” This exhibit offers a unique opportunity to delve into diverse perspectives on leadership throughout history, challenging and broadening our own personal views on leadership and civic engagement.

We hope that this exhibition will compel you to reflect on the qualities of effective leadership and inspire you to take action, making a positive difference in the world. By understanding and appreciating the diverse perspectives on leadership, we can collectively create a more just and inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
