On August 29, 2017 – the twelve year anniversary the levees broke in Louisiana following landfall of Hurricane Katrina, we announced efforts to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Coincidentally, the levees began to break around Houston, Texas as flood waters crippled the regions infrastructure and rescue efforts were underway. The decision to create a disaster relief fund received overwhelming support from Foundation supporters. Especially since, 100% of donations have been committed to recovery efforts.
Supporters like you asked that we coordinate efforts to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey and we heard you loud and clear.
On August 29, 2005 there were over 50 failures of the levees and flood walls protecting New Orleans, Louisiana, and its suburbs following passage of Hurricane Katrina and landfall in Mississippi. The levee and flood wall failures caused flooding in 80% of New Orleans and all of St. Bernard Parish.
Please join us in thanking the city of Ontario for allowing us to speak before city council Tuesday, August 15th. As Mayor Leon stated, 3 minutes was not enough time to explain all the great work you, our community of supporters, are doing. But we are still grateful for the opportunity to introduce you to some of the folks we’re helping and to be acknowledged.

D’Andre is proud to be the newest face of the National University website. Included on the splash page of the new website was a profoundly accurate quote, “As a non-profit institution, we know that it’s not just the degree our students earn that matters, but the degree to which they use it”.
