Over 6,000 residents gathered last night in the heart of Ontario for a once-in-a-generation celebration—the launch party for our city’s new Minor League Baseball team, the Ontario Tower Buzzers. It was an electrifying night filled with music, food, entertainment, and collective pride as the community came together to unveil not just a name, but a new chapter in our city’s legacy.
The Tower Buzzers name pays homage to Ontario’s rich aviation heritage and cultural connection to the iconic film Top Gun. More than a nod to the past, the name evokes speed, precision, teamwork—and an enduring spirit that defines our region.
This event marks more than just the arrival of a new baseball team. It symbolizes the birth of ONT Field, a $120-million state-of-the-art ballpark that will open in 2026, complete with aviation-themed attractions designed to engage both sports fans and local families alike. With projections showing Ontario’s population could soon double to over 400,000, this ballpark represents a smart investment in sports tourism, economic development, and family entertainment for years to come.
Why This Matters to the Lampkin Foundation
At the D’Andre D. Lampkin Foundation, our mission has always been to strengthen the bonds that make communities resilient. We invest in people, empower leaders, and bring diverse groups together to solve real-world challenges.
For us, this launch was not just about baseball. This is exactly the kind of community building we believe in. It’s not just entertainment—it’s collaboration, hope, and long-term growth. It’s a space where families can gather, memories can be made, and a new identity can take shape—together.
Events like this underscore our belief in bridging divides—between neighborhoods, between generations, and between the private and public sectors. The Tower Buzzers give us all something to rally behind. It’s not just a team. It’s a symbol of shared pride, renewal, and the promise of what we can build together.
Looking Ahead
We extend our warmest congratulations to the City of Ontario, Ontario International Airport Authority, and the many civic leaders and visionaries who helped make this team a reality. We are proud to live and work in a region that understands the power of collective joy and shared opportunity.
The D’Andre D. Lampkin Foundation looks forward to supporting this initiative as it grows and evolves—and to seeing you all at ONT Field in 2026!
Let’s play ball.
