Dear friends and supporters,
This Thanksgiving, I find myself thinking about all the people who have made the D’Andre D Lampkin Foundation more than just an idea on paper. You have helped turn it into a living, breathing example of what community resilience looks like when people refuse to give up on one another.
To those of you who have been with us from the beginning, through the early vision, the growing pains, the experiments, and the long nights, thank you. Your faith in our mission has carried us through seasons when it would have been easier to stop.
To our monthly donors: you are the steady heartbeat of this organization. Your ongoing support has allowed us to respond to disasters, invest in youth and education, stand with families in crisis, and show up for our neighbors in real and tangible ways. Because of you, we’ve been able to:
- Expand programs that help build stronger, more resilient communities.
- Stand alongside partners in preparedness and recovery efforts when disasters strike.
- Provide scholarships and opportunities that give young people hope and a path forward.
- Uplift stories and events that honor service, sacrifice, and our shared responsibility to one another.
To everyone who has picked up the phone, sent an email, or made an introduction on our behalf, connecting us to benefactors and partners so the work could continue, thank you. You’ve made sure that the real purpose of our organization stays at the center: bringing people together to support one another, rebuild what’s broken, and remind our communities that they are not alone.
We also see those of you who have been quietly watching us grow over the years, liking, sharing, attending events, and cheering us on from a distance. We’re grateful for you, too. As we look ahead, we know we still have a long way to go, and we can’t walk that road alone. If you care about community resilience, if you believe in showing the best side of humanity, I want to personally invite you to take the next step with us and become a monthly donor. Your commitment, at any level, helps ensure this work not only continues, but grows.
This work is hard. It asks us to stay hopeful when it would be easier to become cynical, to show grace when it would be easier to walk away, and to keep serving when the needs feel overwhelming. But together, we have already proven what can be accomplished when people decide to do good, consistently, quietly, and with open hands and open hearts.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in this mission, for believing in each other, and for believing that our communities are worth fighting for.
Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, peaceful, and meaningful Thanksgiving.
With gratitude,
