This Christmas season, we are so thankful for you!
This month, we were able to purchase and power 120 solar lamps for hurricane victims in Puerto Rico and facilitate accommodations for 2 evacuees because of your amazing support!
It was because of you that disaster victims in Puerto Rico like U.S. Army Veteran Edwin Hernandez were able to rebuild their home and religious leaders like Blanche Hill and other members of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana were able to ship much needed clothing.
In Puerto Rico, residents continue to work and live on generators or under candle light. No power in Puerto Rico meant healthcare providers had to make difficult decisions about who to treat. The situation was made even more difficult because of the lack of alternate resources available. Rescue and recovery efforts were delayed or hampered due to lack of light and power.
How long must the situation in Puerto Rico remain in the dark?
The Lampkin Foundation is continuing to purchase alternate sources for power. We are working with our partner organizations to ship much needed supplies to the island and reassure our neighbors they are not forgotten.
It is our hope that supporters like U.S. Army Veteran Edwin Hernandez are able to complete the reconstruction of their home and community in Puerto Rico. We also hope religious leaders like Blanche Hill can continue to count on us to deliver much needed supplies to the island.
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of people like U.S. Army Veteran Edwin Hernandez and Blanche Hill. We couldn’t do it without you!
