As a 13 year old who joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Explorer Program because I had dreams and ambitions to become a Deputy Sheriff despite the tremendous obstacles I faced growing up in the gang ridden South Central Los Angeles, this moment touched my heart.
