Statement from the D’Andre D. Lampkin Foundation
On the Tragic Death of Charlie Kirk
We are deeply saddened by the tragic and untimely death of Charlie Kirk, a young conservative activist whose life was taken while speaking at Utah Valley University. His assassination is a sobering reminder that political violence has no place in a healthy democracy, and it cannot be tolerated or excused—no matter who the target is or how divisive their views may be.
At the D’Andre D. Lampkin Foundation, we stand firmly on the principle that civil discourse is the cornerstone of progress. In order to build stronger, more resilient communities, we must be willing to engage across difference, protect the right to free expression, and honor the humanity of those with whom we may disagree.
Charlie Kirk did not deserve to die simply because he held opposing views. No one does. His voice, presence, and courage will be missed—not just by those who aligned with his politics, but by anyone who believes in the fundamental right to speak without fear. If we cannot preserve space for disagreement and dialogue, we risk losing the very freedoms that make civic life possible.
Let this moment be a wake-up call: We must recommit ourselves to rejecting violence, upholding integrity, and cultivating a political culture grounded in dignity and respect. Our future depends on it.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Charlie Kirk’s family, friends, and supporters. May they find peace in the days ahead, and may his death serve as a turning point toward a more just and civil society.
