This week, D’Andre Lampkin had the honor of joining The New Home Company and community leaders at the ribbon-cutting for Canopy, a new neighborhood of 70 modern three-story townhomes in Ontario. As a guest of the builder team, he was invited to help cut the ribbon and celebrate a project designed to meet the needs of today’s families while investing in Ontario’s future.
Canopy homes start in the mid-$600s and feature 3 to 4 bedrooms, 3 to4 bathrooms, and up to 1,729 square feet of thoughtfully designed living space. Residents will enjoy smart home features, energy-efficient systems, and community amenities such as BBQs, picnic areas, and a park.
At the Lampkin Foundation, we see this as more than a development, it’s a statement of values. In our white paper on California’s ADU housing policy, we highlighted the urgent need to ensure future generations can afford to live in the communities where they were raised. Rising costs have too often forced young people and working families out of their hometowns. Projects like Canopy push back against this trend, creating pathways for residents to grow, thrive, and remain rooted in Ontario.
We are proud to support housing opportunities that balance sustainability, innovation, and accessibility. Congratulations to The New Home Company on bringing Canopy to life, and to the families who will soon call it home; may this be the foundation of brighter futures for generations to come.
