Statement on Ontario Christian High School Student Courage

Today, I am reaching out with a heavy heart, but also with a deep sense of admiration and support for the brave students at Ontario Christian High School.

Recently, it came to light that a fellow student had intended to cause harm to his classmates, and authorities subsequently discovered that he possessed thousands of rounds of ammunition and several rifles. This distressing incident has shaken our community, but it has also reminded us of the importance of unity, compassion, and vigilance.

I wanted to personally express our unwavering support and solidarity with the students of Ontario Christian High School. Throughout the years, these remarkable individuals have played a vital role within our organization as dedicated volunteers. Most notably, they recently joined us in our 9/11 Day of Service, visiting the D’Andre D Lampkin Foundation to honor the memory of the lives lost on that tragic day in 2001.

The students of Ontario Christian High School have consistently demonstrated courage, generosity, and compassion in all their endeavors. We are deeply grateful to those students who came forward and reported the suspect to administrators, effectively protecting the safety of their community. Their bravery and quick thinking deserve our utmost admiration.
